Wellbeing Services Manager

Location: The Mill, Gregory's Mill Street, Worcester
Hours: Full-time, 30 hours per week (flexible to meet service needs)

Job Summary

Responsible for managing Wellbeing Services across Worcestershire. This includes overseeing daily operations, leading a multidisciplinary team, and driving service development and expansion.

To support clients through every stage of their journey—from initial referral and funding arrangements to active participation in services—ensuring they achieve the best possible outcomes through tailored support and coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the delivery of social, rehabilitation, and educational day services, ensuring they are person-centred and responsive to client needs.
• Oversee daily operations to ensure services run smoothly, efficiently, and in line with Headway Worcestershire’s values and standards.
• Ensure smooth, efficient, and person-centred service delivery.
• Ensure full compliance with contractual obligations, care quality standards, and the principles of the “Positive Days” framework.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on service performance, client outcomes, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Foster strong collaboration across Headway Worcestershire’s departments and services, promoting effective communication and consistent record-keeping.

Team Leadership

• Line manage a diverse team including care/support workers, volunteers, students, housekeeping, and sessional staff.
• Conduct regular supervision sessions, annual appraisals, and team meetings to support staff development and maintain high standards of care.
• Identify training and development needs across the service and coordinate appropriate learning opportunities.
• Oversee the induction process for all new staff, volunteers, and students, ensuring a consistent and supportive onboarding experience.

Client Support & Assessment

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and regular reviews of client needs in collaboration with internal teams and external professionals.
• Develop and implement personalised support plans that promote wellbeing, independence, and emotional health in line with “Positive Days” framework.
• Ensure safeguarding, dignity, and respect are always upheld in line with organisational and statutory standards.

Operational Duties

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including referrals, invoicing, and client files.
• Manage service budgets, petty cash, and fundraising income responsibly.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including conducting fire drills and risk assessments.
• Oversee procurement of materials and maintain stock inventories to support service delivery.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain positive relationships with businesses, health and social care providers, and community partners.
• Promote the service to external stakeholders and explore opportunities for funding and partnership.
• Represent the service in meetings, forums, and with external agencies to advocate for client needs and service development.
• Maintain strong communication with the Outreach Service and collaborate across all Headway Worcestershire services.
• Representing Wellbeing Services.
• Take overall responsibility for ensuring timely and accurate reporting of all day-to-day operations to relevant stakeholders.
• Model and promote positive work ethics, maintaining professional boundaries with both clients and team members.
• To undertake any other duties that may be prescribed from time to time by the Chief Executive/Deputies/Trustees.

Specific job skills
• Able to communicate and motivate via technology or in person.
• Understands the principles of ABI and how to provide care and support to meet individual outcomes
• Experience of managing a group of support / care workers
• To have worked in care / support setting
• Knowledge of acquired brain injury and rehabilitation.
• Experience with digital care systems (e.g CM2000).
• Budget management experience
Training and Education
• Current first aid qualification.
• Safeguarding vulnerable adults, moving and handling.
• Basic knowledge of welfare, benefits and health and safety legislation.
• QCF level 3 health and social care or equivalent
• Introduction to management or to undergo training
Computer skills
Be adept in use of MS Office 2000 or later version, particularly Excel, Word and ideally Access or similar database to basic level. Internet and email
To identify and report on-going upgrades to present IT versions and working within new programs
Other
• Experience of working in the fields of rehabilitation, or an independent living setting.
• Experience of working in supported accommodation or an Outreach service with one or more of the clients groups listed in the column opposite
