Outreach Service Assistant Manager

Location: The Mill, Gregory's Mill Street, Worcester
Hours: 22.5 hours per week

Summary of the Role

The Assistant Manager will support the Outreach Service Manager in delivering high-quality, person-centred services to individuals with acquired brain injury. This role involves managing staff, coordinating service delivery, supporting volunteers, and ensuring the smooth operation of the service.

Key Responsibilities

Service Delivery & Coordination

• Plan and organise service delivery in collaboration with the Service Manager.
• Manage staff rotas and coordinate efficient travel routes.
• Evaluate service delivery to ensure it benefits clients, families, and staff.

Operational Management

• Monitor and control service budgets and financial transactions.
• Report maintenance issues and repairs within the service and schemes to appropriate persons .
• Maintain and update digital systems (e.g., Share on the Mill, CM2000).

Client & Community Engagement

• Respond to enquiries, conduct assessments, and update client files.
• Develop and maintain client relationships through individual sessions and reviews.
• Promote the service through marketing, networking, and fundraising events.


Monitoring & Reporting

• Record and analyse service outcomes and provide regular reports to management.
• Attend external meetings and represent the service as required.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Conduct risk assessments and ensure health and safety compliance.
• Maintain fire safety and COSHH records.
• Ensure confidentiality and data protection standards are upheld.

Team Support & Development

• Support staff and volunteers with training and supervision.
• Foster a culture of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
• Assist with general administration and contribute to service development.

Experience of managing a team and reporting to senior management

• Ability to work independently and manage emergencies.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Experience in care or support services.
• Flexibility to work unsociable hours when required.

Specific job skills
• Able to communicate and motivate via technology or in person.
• Understands the principles of ABI and how to provide care and support to meet individual outcomes
• Experience of managing a group of support / care workers
• To have worked in care / support setting
• Knowledge of acquired brain injury and rehabilitation.
• Experience with digital care systems (e.g CM2000).
• Budget management experience
Training and Education
• Current first aid qualification.
• Safeguarding vulnerable adults, moving and handling.
• Basic knowledge of welfare, benefits and health and safety legislation.
• QCF level 3 health and social care or equivalent
• Introduction to management or to undergo training
Computer skills
Be adept in use of MS Office 2000 or later version, particularly Excel, Word and ideally Access or similar database to basic level. Internet and email
To identify and report on-going upgrades to present IT versions and working within new programs
Other
• Experience of working in the fields of rehabilitation, or an independent living setting.
• Experience of working in supported accommodation or an Outreach service with one or more of the clients groups listed in the column opposite
